DSO performed this set Friday night & they absolutely blew the roof off the joint. I've seen a dozen or so DSO shows & this show is my #1. 4Stars is for this GD show, a superb AUD, my thanks to the Taper & his coconspirators

As a previous reviewer has already commented this show did not allow taping. MR 1 star, If you bothered to read the description you may have noticed that it was recorded HAND HELD FOB (front of the soundboard- for you Mr Aus1994 with no understanding of AUDience recordings proven by that comment and wildly inaccurate rating).
This man kept quiet and probably most of the people around him did as well, and he held his mics for the entire show, risking ejection all the while. That's work. Then he graciously shares it with us ,with the generous help of JAZ and the archive, and you can't even be bothered to give a reason for your rating.
#1. It is a very listenable recording and I enjoy the atmosphere to sterile SBDs. It's a personal choice and many may disagree but I stated my reason. This recording captures the moment in time better for me ; It reminds me of what it was like in the summer of 1988 seeing the Grateful Dead in big spaces and racetracks (Hello Oxford!!)
#2 This show is top notch. It is a fearsome monster, a wild jolt of mayhem and yet also a comforter of mind and soul- all that within 3 hours. The emotional roller coaster shows became when all the inner and outer worlds aligned with the God molecule.
I'm giving the show a 5 to help offset the average from the foolish first post. I would have given 4 1/2 anyway if you could do halves here.
Thanks for the upload guys, there are plenty of us that appreciate it greatly.
Summer Tour was a special thing.
I'd like to take that ride again .....

How anyone could rate this bad is beyond me. I was at this show and the China/Fingers/Rider tripped me out, then to get my brain blasted out of my head with that Playing in the Band? WOW! Don't forget there was no taping allowed at this show which explains the lack of tapes and the talking. Most mics were hidden. David Lindley and Los Lobos were awesome also. I drove all the way from Phoenix and had a blast camping out there.

The 'Believe it or Not' is a gem that I have loved listening to for 10 years, especially the ending, words cannot really describe how sweet.

There is an amazing sounding audience of this show on the archive, which I can't recommend highly enough. The China>CF>Rider is amazing and I am not aware of it being done before/since. The PITB is fantastic, as well. It is far from "bad".

I don't usually write reviews of that many shows, but I saw the one star rating and I just listened this and found it to be totally fine. I don't know what problem the other rater had, but I enjoyed it throughly. It would be better if you could say what you thought was wrong with it. This are some audience talking but it is an aud recording. JAZ does some great work and I appreciate all the shows they have mastered.
